• Event "Foro 2010": The "Foro 2010" Forum will be celebrated in Santiago de Compostela on December 2010, and it represents a big container of worldwide activities and events around the culture of peace.

Introduction

Paz y Regulación de Conflictos (Peace and Regulation of Conflicts) is the name for the research group HUM-607, funded by Junta de Andalucía. The group was born in the year 1992 within the Universitarian Institute of Peace and Conflicts Research from the University of Granada, with the purpose to promote research on peace in the University. Since then, the group has taken part in many initiatives on the subject not only in this institution, but in Spain, the Maghreb and Latin America.

Among these initiatives, it is worth pointing out several research projects (Cosmovisions of Peace in the Mediterranean, Peace Models and Experiences in the Mediterranean, Peace and Conflicts in Andalusian and Latin American Universities, Culture of Peace in Andalusia: Experiences and Challenges, among others), the celebration of scientific meetings (I Spanish-American Congress of Education and Culture of Peace, Peace in the Mediterranean Political Cultures, First Seminar of Researchers for Andalusian Peace, ...), the publication of books (Cosmovisions of Peace in the Mediterranean, History of Peace, The Imperfect Peace, Peace and Conflict Manual, and other titles from the Eirene collection), and the creation of Red Andaluza de Investigación para la Paz y los Derechos Humanos -RAIPAD- (Andalusian Network for the Research of Peace and Human Rights).
